Current Status: Freshly Painted, Wet Sanded & Buffed.
Color: 1967 Dark Moss Green (Met) w/Ivy Gold Interior
    Engine: 351 Windsor Roller
    Purpose: Wife's Daily Driver

Living in New Jersey, USA but originally from Nova Scotia, Canada where I've been restomodding it for the past 16 months with my father.

We purchased the car Jan 01 2008 in NJ, USA & had it shipped to NS, Canada in Feb. Originally it was a 1967 Mustang Coupe, C-Code, 289, C4 Auto, Frost Turquoise w/Black Interior & Vinyl Roof. It was in very rough shape and just drivable. 1st day we looked at and then purchased the car.

Few days later bringing it home

Since then my father and I have ripped it down to the bare shell. Sand blasted top, bottom, inside and out (this takes months to clean out!). Replaced the floors, toe-boards, upper & lower cowl, drivers rear quarter, drivers torque box, added one to the passengers side, a few small patch sections to the front frame rails/fenders/door skins, added sub-frame connectors and a full steel trunk/cabin divider. ALL rust inside and out was cut out and replaced with new metal. Applied 3 coats (spray) of POR-15 to the entirely cleaned under chassis, trunk, interior cabin, engine bay and then 3 coats brushed inside doors and fenders. Gave the body 2 coats of 2-part white Epoxy Primer.
Loads of metal replaced as you can see

I used 160sq/ft of SecondSkin Damplifier Pro heat and sound deadener from the top of the firewall, down through the interior floor, up the trunk divider, on the roof, over the wheel wells, inside the trunk and on the inside of the quarter panels. Huge difference this makes! We then block sanded the entire car followed by adding the 68 Shelby fiberglass hood, nose extension, headlight buckets, front lower valance, rear quarter extensions and trunk lid. Once fitted we bonded the rear extensions and front headlight buckets on permanently with no visible seams showing. This was followed by covering the new upper cowl vents with sheet metal, sealing them off, filling them in and gave it a nice smooth finish. Back to sanding. Hit the entire thing with another coat of Epoxy.

Again it was sanded, a touch of fill here and there, sanded, sprayed a good quality gray high build primer and sanded once more. At this point I was happy as it was nice and smooth with no ripples, highs or lows. Gave it one more spray however this time with a Black primer and sent it off to the paint shop where they gave it one last sanding, fixed 2 or 3 little things and painted. Car has 2 coats of Dark Moss Green (Met) and 4 coats of clear over it. Also had them wet sand and buff the car minus the roof thats getting Black vinyl soon.

Delivered to paint shop in Black waiting for final sand and paint.

How it currently sits in our garage. I have yet to see it myself as I'm back in NJ.

I'm heading back to NS shortly for 6 or 7 weeks. Will start by notching out the shock towers for the new AJE Racing front coil-over suspension, k-member and power R&P. New 9" Currie 9+ rear end w/TrueTrac limit-slip, 3.25 gears & 31-spline axles will also go on at this time. Disk Brakes all around include 11" Explorer rears and 11.75" Wilwood fronts. At this point she gets the new boots.. Vintage 50 10-spoke Shelby 16x8" wheels with 245/50ZR-16 BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S tires will be mounted. New Ron Francis wiring setup will be installed next along with all the additional wiring needs.

Then the fun starts.. building the 351w and the 4-speed toploader rebuild in the evenings. Block is being hot-tanked for cleaning then powder coated Translucent Grape as the wife wants. It then heads back for final machining.. bored 30 over and fitted with Keith Black Pistons. Top-end includes Polished Edlebrock heads and intake, 650 Thunder carb, Comp Cams Xtreme Retro-Fit CL35-421-8 Hydraulic roller tappet cam & lifters with Pro Magnum roller rocker arms, etc etc. ARP bolt upgrades top and bottom ends. Complete MSD ignition system with 6AL-2 box. Full Mallory electric fuel system (Gerotor design). March 30420 Style Track Serpentine system which includes A/C compressor, P/S pump w/billet remote reservoir & 140A alternator all polished and clear powder coated. A new Lakewood safety bellhousing with Centerforce Steel Flywheel & 11" Dual Friction Clutch will sit between block and toploader. Front to rear JBA stainless exhaust with ceramic coated mid-length headers. Still need to order a new driveshaft once engine, trany and rear and in.
A few items showing engine parts, AJE suspension, etc from a few months ago...

After that the new interior and everything we've forgotten still needs to be finished. Hopefully its on the road by July 1st and finished sometime in August for a bit of summer time fun. See my sig for some additional info.

I'll try and update as the protect finishes up over the next few months.

    cheers

Thanks.. Glad you like it so far.

We're down in South Jersey and it'll be seen pretty much year round going up and down I-295. Wife will be driving it daily and can't wait to finally see it finished. Neither can I for that matter. The 1000 mile road trip from NS to NJ is gonna be a blast for a few days! Hope to have it back in Jersey by mid August.

We'll have it in a few shows for fun and of course try to find some good cruise nights around. Don't know of any yet but hope to start looking into them soon. Currently we haven't joined any clubs.
